Hello, darlings!

Portrait of MohairMama in her studio

I'm Mama. I stitch.

I picked up my first crochet hook at eight, hidden under a quilt at my grandmother's house. By twelve I had made a very questionable hat. By thirty I had made a whole wardrobe and an octopus named Gerald.

Today my studio is a riot of color: skeins on every surface, a cat who believes mohair is a personal gift, and a kettle that never quite goes cold.

Studio shelves full of local yarn

Why local?

I buy fleece, mohair and silk from farmers and dyers I can actually wave to. It means better fiber, fairer pay and a lot of cheerful studio visits from alpacas.

Nothing here is mass-produced. If it has a wonky eye, that is its personality.

Stitch along with me

My PDF patterns are written the way I talk: friendly, a little chaotic, and always with a snack break. Whether you're a total beginner or a lace nerd, there's a pattern for you.
